We are proud to see our music majors representing our department with such artistry and excellence this summer.

The Department of Music is excited to offer a new ensemble class for voice students!

🎭 Introducing Opera and Musical Theatre Workshop 🎭

Students will explore scenes, ensembles, and solo repertoire from opera and musical theatre while developing performance, acting, and collaborative skills in a supportive, creative environment.

The course will culminate in the fall and spring concerts. Open to both Spelman and Morehouse students.

Join us as we bring stories to life through music and performance!

We will close the semester with Springfest, a special concert for students taking lessons not as a degree requirement but to continue their love of music. Please join us this Friday morning in CI&A 200!

Amid a full and exciting weekend in the department, music major Ariana Swindell presented her Senior Composition and Songwriting Recital, featuring a dynamic program of original works that showcased her expansive range and expressive artistic voice. Congratulations, Ariana!

Congratulations to our seniors Ashley Rawls, Iris Roberts, and Caroline Montier and to junior Gabrielle Beard on an outstanding Music Technology Showcase this past weekend! Their capstone presentations were creative, innovative, and a true reflection of their hard work and artistry.

Congratulations to Bella Michael Provo, a freshman music major, who participated and performed beautifully in the AMTA Collegiate Symposium today at Jacksonville State University!
