Another chance to celebrate the construction of Speech School kids’ deep reading brains...

Our Wardlaw Vocabulary Parade marked the culmination of a language-centered year, where words come alive as students synchronize creativity and confidence—dressing as words from every part of speech.

The celebration continued at Yates Café with Indiana Yates and the Great Search in honor of Hooked on Books, followed by a fabulous splash bash.

Thank you, Wardlaw kids, for an energetic celebration that captured everything we love about learning at the Speech School! 👏

It all starts with an idea. 💡
Our 4th graders put their brains to work and wowed us at the annual Invention Convention with original ideas, thoughtful solutions, and impressive prototypes.

Inventor, Spanx/Sneex founder, and former Speech School parent Sara Blakely sent a surprise video, reminding students of the power of an idea. We could not be more proud of these creative, confident problem-solvers who are well on their way! Thank you for making our day!

Big words. Little learners. Lots of joy 📚! Our Preschool Vocabulary Parade is better than Halloween (parents said it, not us 😄) because these kids aren’t just dressing up, they’re showing off what they know. From visionary and innovation to mischievous and iridescent, vocabulary came to life today!

Our littlest Field Day participants (along with Mr. Yates) were out in full force this week, as they ran, bounced, floated, wiggled and generally played their way to greatness, with parent volunteers as their witnesses. Thanks so much to everyone who came out - no exaggeration needed, we truly couldn’t do this without our wonderful volunteers!

The best part of Wardlaw’s annual Mimi Bounds Spelling Bee 🐝 is watching our budding spellers lean into their reading and spelling strategies with confidence- they break words apart, chunk phonemes and syllables, and trust where their deep reading brains lead them. The cheering section didn’t disappoint either!
