Established in 1938, the Atlanta Speech School is the nation's most comprehensive center for language and literacy. Composed of four schools, a clinic with four distinct services, the Rollins Center for Language & Literacy professional development center and its free online Cox Campus, each program shares one common mission: to help each person develop their full potential through language and lit
eracy. Each day, extraordinarily dedicated and talented individuals combine the science and art of teaching so that each child can go on to make the most difference in the lives of others. The Hamm Center is a Listening and Spoken Language program and preschool that teaches children who are deaf or hard of hearing how to talk. The Kenan Preschool and Kindergarten uses an academic curriculum, focused on language and literacy, for typically developing children who are ready for pre-literacy instruction. Stepping Stones Preschool is an early intervention preschool program developed to provide therapeutic education for children ages three, four, and five with speech and/or language delays. The Wardlaw School helps bright children with dyslexia in grades K-6th learn how to become self-confident, independent learners reading on or above grade level. The Rollins Center for Language & Literacy trains teachers in research-based language and reading approaches for the benefit of children through their families, healthcare, schools and communities. Rollins' learning platform, the Cox Campus, is free through the generous support of funders.
