✨Are you a parent of a medically fragile child enrolled in the Georgia Pediatric Program (GAPP)? Did you know that you may be eligible to be compensated for the care you provide? This workshop is designed to guide parents through the process of becoming a paid caregiver under GAPP, offering valuable insights into eligibility requirements, application procedures, and the responsibilities associated with this role.
✨During this session, you will learn about the criteria that must be met to qualify as a paid caregiver, including specific medical and programmatic guidelines. We will walk you through the necessary steps to apply, detailing what documentation and assessments are required. You’ll also gain a clear understanding of the compensation structure, including payment rates, schedules, and how to manage the financial aspects of this important role.
✨In addition to practical guidance, this workshop will address common challenges and considerations parents may face when transitioning from an unpaid to a paid caregiving role, including legal and ethical implications. By the end of the session, you’ll have a comprehensive understanding of the GAPP caregiver program and be well-equipped to make informed decisions about becoming a paid caregiver for your child.
✨This workshop is essential for parents who want to ensure they are maximizing the support available to them through GAPP while continuing to provide the best possible care for their child.
Parent Workshops are held through Zoom. Participants will stay muted until Q&A at the end of the presentation. These Workshops are educational workshops for parents of children with disabilities. Recordings will be available on our “Recorded Workshops" page within the week.
