Both are forms of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), but remember the pattern:
🔵 Crohn’s: can affect mouth → a**s, commonly the terminal ileum. Think skip lesions + transmural inflammation + fistulas/strictures. RLQ pain and diarrhea are common.
🔴 Ulcerative Colitis: affects the colon and re**um, with continuous, superficial inflammation. Think bloody diarrhea + LLQ pain, with toxic megacolon as an important complication.
🧠 Board Tip:
Crohn’s = SKIPS + DEEP + FISTULAS
UC = CONTINUOUS + COLON + BLOODY DIARRHEA
