Our educators are the heart of The Nest. Every day, they nurture our children with patience, love, creativity, and care — and this year, we have a special opportunity to give back in a meaningful way. 💛

This Giving Tuesday, we’re launching The Nest Healthcare & Wellness Fund, dedicated to supporting the physical, emotional, and financial well-being of the educators who care for our children every day.

As a small nonprofit nursery school, 73% of tuition already goes directly toward teacher compensation, including salaries, a $2,000 healthcare stipend, retirement contributions, and paid personal time off. Despite our deepest desires, offering full healthcare benefits is not financially possible for a school of our size without significantly increasing tuition.

Meanwhile, our recent staff survey revealed urgent needs:
• 59% of educators rely on Marketplace insurance
• Several cannot afford insurance at all
• Many are skipping medical appointments due to cost
• One educator spends 49% of their income on housing and utilities
• Others are experiencing food insecurity and rising expenses

In light of the recent and devastating layoffs at the CDC and several other government agencies, we want to extend our love and support to those in our community who have been impacted.
