thriving garden, outdoor classroom, picnic tables, greenhouse, pond, and chicken coop!

We’ll be working together to:
• W**d the STEM garden beds and flower beds
• Pick up trash around campus
• Help prepare our school grounds for a beautiful start to the new school year

Whether you can stay for an hour or the entire morning, your time and support will make a meaningful difference. We would love to have families, friends, and community members join us.

🦕🔍 Summer Reading Challenge Scavenger Hunt! 🔍🦕

Join us all day on May 25th at Northlake–Barbara Loar Library for a prehistoric scavenger hunt adventure!

Dinosaurs have roared into the Children’s Department and they have a secret message to share. Find all the hidden dinosaurs, decode the mystery message, and win a small prize. 🎉

Get a sneak peek at this year’s Summer Reading theme, “Unearth a Story,” by exploring the fun dinosaur characters visiting DeKalb County Public Library branches throughout May.

Open to Ages 6-12. Funding provided by the DeKalb Library Foundation. 💙

Hi Hawthorne families: SAP (Student Assignment Project) and Cluster Redistricting Session with Allyson Gervertz - Board Seat 4 (Our Representative)

⏰ When: May 20th 4:30pm- 6pm
🗺️ Where: Hawthorne Elementary School Cafeteria
❓ What: Hawthorne gets an opportunity to speak directly with our Board Representative, Allyson Gervertz, about the County’s upcoming major redistricting plans.

Boundary reviews May 2026 - October 2026, with a final vote by the Board in December 2026. Boundaries will be adjusted for schools opening during August 2027 through 2029 (Dresden Elementary School, Sequoyah Middle School and Sequoyah High School).
