āIām extremely grateful to have received this grant money. The check has been submitted to district finance office and funds are awaited. My principal was very appreciative and congratulated me as she announced it to the team, and I was asked for my input into how the funds (totaling $1500) should be used. I suggested the following-
1) Purchasing board games, activities, gratitude journals, and art supplies for the classroom.
2) Using part of the funds to invite special speakers (leaders in the community) who could be role models for students.
It truly is quite an honor to receive a NSHSS educator award/grant and I look forward to preparing several more proposals for my students and supporting their educational endeavors.ā - Gigi Azam, Harmony School of Excellence-Austin.
