Debbie Discovers Atlanta and Beyond I started this page to share local events going on for families. I will write up about local places in hopes you learn about new places.

I am a teacher and a local mom who loves to take her son to explore places. Friends always asked how I knew about events so I created this page to share local events and give you information about places we visit or other information parents would enjoy . I hope you enjoy exploring the world around us as much as we do.

🇮🇹🥐 A LITTLE TASTE OF ITALY HAS ARRIVED IN DOWNTOWN ALPHARETTA! 🇮🇹❤️

It is rare that my (Italian) husband gets excited about a restaurant opening, but he has been so excited for this to open in Alpharetta as he has been going to the one over at the Forum for years.

Giulia just opened in downtown Alpharetta! 🎉 And the location is so easy to find — right across from Chiranga in The Green!

If you love discovering new foodie spots, this is one to add to your list! 🍰☕

There’s something special about an Italian bakery, from the tempting pastries to the sweet treats,coffee and sandwiches that make you want to try a little bit of everything. 😍

I love seeing new businesses open in our community, and I’m always excited to discover new places to share with all of you!

🌟 Words truly can't describe what an incredible experience the Marriott Bonvoy Members Day was! 🏨 ❤️

Marriott Hotels & Resorts selected around 100 of us from different parts of the US and different status levels, to visit their headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland, for a truly unforgettable day!

☕️ We kicked things off with breaktast and enjoyed all the Starbucks we could drink throughout the day!

🏨 We had the opportunity to tour 13 different types of rooms and get a closer look at the variety of experiences Marriott offers its guests.

💡 One of my favorite parts was participating in four different activities where Marriott genuinely listened to our suggestions, ideas, and feedback on how they can continue improving the guest experience. It was amazing to feel like our voices truly mattered!

🌟 We even had the opportunity to meet the CEO, and everyone we encountered was so welcoming, friendly, and passionate about what they do.

✈️ I also had the pleasure of meeting Nicky Kelvin from The Points Guy and absolutely loved listening to him speak! It was wonderful to hear his insights and share the day with people who are just as passionate about travel.

❤️ And this is exactly why I always choose Marriott!

For me, it's about so much more than a hotel room. It's the service, the people, and the way they make their guests feel valued.

Experiences like this remind me why I continue to be a loyal Marriott Bonvoy member!

🏨 BIG NEWS FOR MARRIOTT BONVOY MEMBERS! ✨

One of the exciting things I learned at Marriott Bonvoy Members Day at headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland, was about the upcoming soft launch of a new room upgrade status feature in the Marriott app! 📱

Imagine being able to open your app and see your actual ranking on the complimentary room upgrade list instead of wondering where you stand!

But here's the important part: your ranking can change! If someone with a higher upgrade priority books a room within the 24–48 hours before your arrival, your position on the list can change, too.

I love seeing Marriott explore ways to give its loyal members more transparency into the travel experience. As someone who loves traveling and sharing firsthand experiences, this is definitely something I'll be watching!

Buena Vista Social Club on Broadway will offer special lottery and student rush tickets for the upcoming engagement The Fox Theatre from Oct. 27 – Nov. 1. Tickets are on sale now by visiting foxtheatre.org/buenavista.

My friend Andrea Andrade took me with her to see it in Miami last week and we loved it!

For those feeling LUCKY, Regions Bank Broadway in Atlanta is partnering with the digital ticket lottery platform Lucky Seat. On Friday, Oct. 16, participants will have a chance to win a limited number of $44 tickets for the Atlanta engagement of BUENA VISTA SOCIAL CLUB.

Entries for shows at the Fox Theatre open Friday, Oct. 16 at noon and will close on Friday, Oct. 23, at 9:30 a.m. Lucky Seat will email winners starting at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 23, and will continue throughout the day, as needed. Winners will have a limited window to purchase and claim their tickets. Participants must have a Lucky Seat account to participate in the lottery or create one by visiting LuckySeat.com.

Tickets are subject to availability. Limit of two tickets per patron. In some cases, tickets may be partial view and, while every effort will be made to seat multiple seats together, there is a chance that seats may be split up. Tickets will be sent to the email address used with Lucky Seat 1-3 days before the show. Look for a message from “[email protected].”

BUENA VISTA SOCIAL CLUB will play a limited one-week engagement at the Fox Theatre from Oct. 27 – Nov. 1 as part of the 2026/2027 Regions Bank Broadway in Atlanta season. The performance schedule is:

Tuesday – Friday 7:30 p.m.
Saturday 2 p.m., 7:30 p.m.
Sunday 1 p.m., 6:30 p.m.
