♥️ February is Heart Month ♥️
Each year, more than 350,000 cardiac arrests occur outside of the hospital - and 90% of these are fatal. About 70% of cardiac arrests that happen outside of the hospital happen at home 🏠. CPR is a lifesaving skill that most people can learn and perform correctly. According to the American Heart Assoociation, a consumer survey revealed that as many as 70% of respondents said that we’re not confident to perform CPR as a bystander in a cardiac emergency. 🆘 🆘
The goal The American Heart Association’s Nation of Lifesavers initiative is to turn bystanders into lifesavers, so that in the time of cardiac emergency anyone, anywhere is prepared and empowered to become a vital link of survival and provide CPR.

PERSONAL POST ♥️ People don’t care what you know until they know that you care. Connecting with my clients is important to me and we connect on a lot of similar things as healthcare providers. Me and my new grads often talk about what to expect as a new nurse, MA, PCT, RT etc. Me and my veteran healthcare clients often discuss current issues in healthcare and how that affects our jobs and our families. This is one reason why my classes are small and many times private 1:1 sessions. It’s not about making the most money for me but making the biggest impact ♥️

People have legitimate fears when it comes to performing CPR as a bystander in public. It’s a scary situation and if your not sure then you may think that doing nothing is better than causing injury. Two things you can always do is 1.) Call 911 and 2) Know that you do have protection under the law for being a Good Samaritan. The best thing we can all do is EDUCATE ourselves in Rescue CPR so that we can be prepared to help anyone in need…regardless of gender, identity, faith, or bias. ♥️
A victim in cardiac arrest literally has SECONDS before they become unresponsive and stop breathing. Death can occur within minutes if the victim does not receive lifesaving treatment. Bystander CPR is critical in the case that a cardiac arrest happens outside of the hospital setting, or where EMS is not readily present.
