A year without her. A lifetime shaped by her.

One year ago today, we lost the woman who started it all. And yet, everywhere we look, Yvonne is still here.

She is in every screening we are able to contribute to, every hand we hold, every family that learns something they needed to know before it was too late. She is in the courage it takes to show up for your health when the system has not always shown up for you. She built something that outlives her, and that was exactly the point.

Grief has a way of settling differently at the one-year mark. The sharp edges soften just enough to let the gratitude through. We are grateful for her laugh, her tenacity, her refusal to accept "that's just how it is." We are grateful she dreamed bigger.

The Foundation carries her name because it carries her heart. That has not changed. That will not change.

To her family, her loved ones, and everyone who felt the warmth of knowing her: we see you today, and we are holding this moment alongside you.

Rest well, Yvonne. The work continues.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered, wrote a message for, sent a prayer or birthday wish up for Ms. Brown who turned 88 years of age yesterday.

Her husband and brother served in the Army, now a widow, she is still getting her walks in and keeping her mind sharp. We got to visit with her this week and share some special birthday love. 💕

Most cancer cells are fought off by your immune system—if only it’s allowed to work. Cancer takes decades to develop silently, with sugar feeding its growth.
