Last night, the European Piano Academy of Atlanta gathered at Steinway Piano Galleries of Atlanta for our Spring Recital.
Twenty-two pianists. Nearly two hours of music ranging from a child's first stage to advanced literature. Each student walked to the Steinway & Sons grand piano D-274 and made it their own, and each one was met by a full house of families, friends, and fellow musicians who understood that an evening like this is built one practice session at a time.
There is a moment, every recital, when a student takes a breath before the first note and the room breathes with them. We had that moment twenty-two times last night.
My gratitude to Steinway Piano Galleries Atlanta for the platform, to the families who make this academy possible, and above all to the students. You were the evening.
Until the next one.

A summit moment we’ll remember.
Our student, David Bermudez, has just stood on the crown of Chimborazo—an extraordinary peak in Ecuador often described as the “highest point on Earth” (by distance from the planet’s center). And with him at the summit: the flag of the European Piano Academy of Atlanta.
We’re deeply proud of David—not only for the climb, but for what it represents: poise under pressure, unwavering focus, and the quiet determination that turns ambition into achievement. The same qualities that shape an artist.
Bravo, David. Welcome back—bring our flag home.

There is a special kind of pressure when you sit at a Steinway and open Liszt’s Mazeppa, because every note tells the truth.
This is the work most people never see. Polishing sound, shaping color, building stamina, until it stops being a piece and becomes a statement.
If you want to be part of this, I will share curated updates from the process.

Our founder, Boris Cepeda (conductor and music director of Menotti’s The Consul at Georgia State), was honored to accompany two outstanding GSU voice students to the German Consulate General in Atlanta.
This visit offered a rare opportunity to see how a consulate operates in practice — a perfect real-world complement to Menotti’s opera, which deals so powerfully with immigration, procedure, and human dignity. Experiences like this are exactly what we believe in at the European Piano Academy of Atlanta: connecting high-level artistic work with cultural, historical, and social context.
Many thanks to the German Consulate General in Atlanta for the warm welcome. We’re proud to see Atlanta’s music community building these bridges. 🎶🇩🇪🇺🇸
The German Consulate General in Atlanta hosted two performing arts students and their German conductor from Georgia State University to explore the functions of a consul in order to better prepare for their forthcoming opera, "The Consul,” by Gian Carlo Menotti.
The students were given a unique opportunity to immerse themselves into the life of a diplomat, helping them prepare for and understand their upcoming roles.
The performance will be at the Florence Kopleff Recital Hall - 15 Gilmer St. SE, Atlanta, GA 30303 on November 8th and 9th.

At the European Piano Academy of Atlanta, our students are raising their game, on stage and at home.
This season, several families chose instruments that match their ambitions (including grands O and M and a concert upright), while others on Boston (by Steinway) are preparing for their next step.
Our role is simple: train the ear, refine the touch, guide the decision.
Bravi to our students for the hours, curiosity, and courage it takes to grow.

When two Germans meet at the European Piano Academy of Atlanta…
…it takes 30 seconds until the topic is: bread. 🥖🇩🇪
This morning, .stier.recipes , her daughter Mathilda, and my student Steve (who grew up in Austria) had a spontaneous conversation—in German—about baking, heritage, and the eternal mystery of where to find Quark in Atlanta.
Meanwhile, the Steinway waited patiently. 🎹
At the Academy, we’re not just making music—we’re preserving tradition.
One melody (and one Brötchen) at a time.
