Great opportunity for high school migrant students!

The Georgia Migrant Education Summer Leadership Academy is a FREE week-long camp at Valdosta State University (June 1–8). Students will stay in dorms, take classes, and build leadership skills with peers from across the state!

Who can apply:

Migrant students (grades 9–12)

Must be 14+ by June 1

In coordination with various universities in Georgia, the Georgia MEP provides middle and high school priority for service (PFS) students the opportunity to apply for residential summer programs each year.

Yesterday afternoon migrant students and families had an opportunity to visit East Georgia State College in Swainsboro! The purpose of the visit to was to broaden their horizons for post-secondary education and explore their future options. Thank you to all that attended!

Wayne County migrant staff coordinates efforts with Safe Kids Wayne County and provide free car seats for migrant children.

Tift Migrant Education Program host a successful PAC meeting with parents where they shared information about Infinite Campus and brought a speaker from University of Georgia to share resources to help the migrant community.

State and local MEP recruiters from Toombs County partnered with East Georgia Healthcare Center to recruit and provide healthcare to workers and OSY

Migrant students and parents learned about college admissions, financial aid, scholarships, residence halls, extra-curricular activities and campus life during the recent college experience day hosted at Georgia Gwinnett College!

Migrant Education Program participants in grades 8-12 and their families are invited to visit East Georgia State College on December 1st for a College Experience Day. Attendees will tour the campus, hear from professors, learn about campus life, speak with current college students, discover financial aid opportunities, and learn about the admissions process.
