ISSS is hosting its annual Social Security Administration (SSA) Days on August 17 and 18 for students who need to apply for a Social Security Number (SSN).

For SSA Days information and the registration links scan the QR code in the image or visit: https://isss.emory.edu/life-in-the-us/social-security-numbers (Click the "On Campus Social Security Appointments" tab).

Please only register for ONE of the morning or afternoon blocks to allow other students to sign up.

International students can apply if they:

• will receive a stipend from Emory based on services the student is providing;

• have an on-campus job; or

• need a Social Security letter of ineligibility (denial letter) to apply for a Georgia driver's license/state ID or ITIN.

We are so grateful to the students, scholars, and alumni who contributed to our service project last week. We created care bags with toiletries and snacks to be distributed by the Omega Support Center and Networks Cooperative Ministry. We included notes of encouragement such as “You are enough.” “We care about you.” “You deserve kindness” “We hope this brightens your day.” After our teamwork, we enjoyed intercultural conversations over lunch. A huge thank you to our partners, Workplace Culture and Belonging and the Office of Spiritual and Religious Life, for making this incredible trip possible! We took a bus full of 50 Emory students, scholars, and staff to Montgomery, Alabama’s Legacy Museum and National Memorial for Peace and Justice. Emory University and ISSS will be closed this Friday, July 3 in advance of the Independence Day holiday.

Should you experience an immigration emergency during the Friday closure/outside of our regular business hours of 8:30-5PM call the Emory Police Department at 404.727.6111 and their dispatcher will connect you with an ISSS staff member. Have a safe and fun 4th of July and weekend!
