Candler Sacred Worth Candler School of Theology's LGBTQ community and advocacy organization. Sacred Worth primarily serves the students of Candler School of Theology.

Membership is open to all members of the Candler community, and all members of the Emory University community are welcome to attend meetings and events. The purpose of Sacred Worth is to provide a supportive community where students of all genders and sexual orientations are welcomed and respected. Good afternoon, all! Today is our first Ally Tip Tuesday!
When you find out that someone you know is a part of the LGBT+ community, avoid asking the question “How did your family react to you coming out?” It can be a triggering question that is better left up to the individual to disclose at their own comfort level. Instead, try asking if they have a reliable support system!
And of course, everyone is different! Some people may be fine to talk about their family, but it’s best to approach the topic with consideration and respect! 😊
