Huge congratulations to 2nd Lt Avery!

The ONLY cadet to complete the F-18 mid-air refueling challenge…..and let us tell you, that's no small feat. Docking with a tanker at 300+ mph, inches apart, maintaining heading and altitude takes insane precision, nerves of steel, and next-level skill. One wrong move and it's disaster. Avery made it look easy.

As a reward? You've earned a FREE week at Aerospace Awareness Summer Camp!

So proud of you, Lt! The sky's not the limit it's just the beginning.

Today was an amazing day for Aerospace Awareness!

We are extremely proud of our cadets for their hard work, discipline, teamwork, and outstanding representation during the Juneteenth Parade. From marching in formation to carrying the Aerospace Awareness banner with pride, our cadets showed the community what leadership, confidence, and dedication look like.

Their commitment paid off in a major way Aerospace Awareness was awarded the Juneteenth Grand Overall 1st Place Trophy!

This achievement belongs to every cadet, parent, instructor, and supporter who helped make this possible. Our cadets continue to prove that they are not only learning about aerospace, but also building character, responsibility, and leadership skills that will carry them far beyond the classroom.

Congratulations, cadets! You represented Aerospace Awareness with excellence.

Aerospace Awareness Cadets had their eyes on the sky (and screens!) as we watched the 2026 Artemis return to the Moon launch. Just in time for Spring Takeoff starting April 6, 2025 to inspire the next generation of explorers, engineers, and dreamers.

Next stop: the Moon. Then?

Aerospace Awareness inspires kids to aim for the sky, but today, SGT Pitts of the U.S. Army showed them how to prepare for the journey. Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to mentor our afterschool cadets. You proved that leadership isn’t just about giving orders, but about showing up. You planted seeds of discipline and curiosity that will grow for a lifetime. We are grateful for your service to our country and to our community.

IFR approaches utilize the ILS (instrument landing system). The ILS uses radio signals from the ground to create two "electronic beams". 1st Lieutenant Washington (12yrs) demonstrates "flying the needles" the localizer and glideslope, keeping them centered on the instrument display all the way down to the runway.🛬Aerospace Awareness Inc cadets learn to transform the act of flying in bad weather into a disciplined, precise, and safe procedure.

We are thrilled and deeply grateful to the Arby's Foundation for their generous $20,000 grant in support of our mission to inspire the next generation of aerospace leaders! This incredible contribution will help us expand our efforts in the Atlanta area by providing STEM education, hands-on learning opportunities, and fuel young minds with a passion for aviation and space exploration.

At Aerospace Awareness, we believe that every child deserves the chance to reach for the stars—and thanks to partners like the Arby's Foundation, we’re one step closer to making that a reality.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for investing in the future of aerospace and empowering students to dream big!

Aerospace Awareness cadets as early as 9 years old take to the skies (virtually for now!) to practice steep turns (30° or more)—a key skill for any future pilot! 💫 Steep turns aren’t just about banking the wings they’re a foundational exercise that helps cadets develop:
✔ **Coordination** – Balancing aileron, rudder, and elevator for smooth, controlled turns.
✔ **Situational Awareness** – Managing altitude, airspeed, and heading while in a bank.
✔ **Confidence in Flight Controls** – Understanding how an aircraft responds under different conditions. Every great pilot started with the basics, and we’re so proud of our young aviators for taking on the challenge! The sky’s not the limit—it’s just the beginning. 🌍✈️
