Here it is, the first Monday of January 2025, the official beginning of my new year. I'm feeling inspired and optimistic in all areas after a very productive and exciting 2024.
My main musical goal for 2025 is to REVIEW and RELEARN all the major classical pieces I learned starting way back in my years at Princeton, High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. The first piece I'm reviewing is the beautiful Arabesque Number One, in E Major, by Claude Debussy. I'm amazed how easy it feels now all of these years later. I love that piece and am looking forward to recording parts of it for everyone's enjoyment. BEST WISHES TO ALL! You will hopefully be seeing much more of me in 2025 as I "Speak Music..."

This is GUSTAVO DUDAMEL, one of my very favorite conductors of all time! Talk about passion...talk about the JOY OF MUSIC!! Maestro Dudamel is "driven by the belief that music has the power to transform lives, to inspire, and to change the world." If ever the world needed this immense power, it is now! Who will join me and Mr. Dudamel in changing the world through music? We are officially recruiting!

Dear musical friends and fans: I conclude this week-long celebration of Bach's 337th birthday week with what I would consider, arguably, his most sacred masterpiece, one of the true pinnacles of Western Art, the Goldberg Variations. My reverence for this work is indescribable. Listen and experience this masterwork by one of my all-time favorite musical artists.

Happy Friday, World! Continuing our weeklong Bach 337th Birthday Celebration, and upon the suggestion of my lifelong friend Diana from college, enjoy this performance of Bach's Fifth Piano Concerto. Together, Diana and I had the privilege of studying piano with the greatest influence of my life (outside of my wonderful parents), the woman I have always lovingly referred to as "Beloved Teacher," Ellen Herrmann.
