MARK YOUR CALENDARS: First Walk & Roll of the Glennwood Elementary school year is Friday, August 21!

Walk & Roll is part of the larger Georgia Safe Routes to School initiative where students are encouraged to walk, bike or roll to school.

🚌 There will be 3 “Walking School Bus” routes where a group of students, parent volunteers, and staff meet and walk to school together! All are welcome to join, with or without a parent. We’ve got volunteers to ensure everyone can participate and get to Glennwood safely! See next week’s Eagle Edition for route info.

🥇 Every student who participates gets to put a marble in the jar at their school door entrance for the chance to earn extra recess for the school!

✨ Glennwood Elementary Spirit Nights & Percentage Nights! ✨
We’re excited to bring our Glennwood Elementary community together this year with two great ways to connect and support our school:

🌟 Spirit Nights
- A fun monthly community gathering at the Glennwood playground
- One Thursday each month, 6–8pm
📅 Upcoming dates: August 13, September 10, October 8

🌟 Percentage Nights
- Fundraising nights hosted by local restaurants on Early Release Days where a portion of sales goes back to our school!

💚 Whether you come out to play and connect at Spirit Nights, or grab a bite on Percentage Nights, every little bit helps enrich our students’ experiences and strengthen our Glennwood community!

📣OUR FIRST PERCENTAGE NIGHT OF THE SCHOOL YEAR IS WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 26TH FROM 5PM-CLOSE at Willy's Mexicana Grill (2074 N Decatur Rd, Decatur, GA 30033) where we'll receive 25% of the sales!

CSD Opening Day 2026! Glennwood Staff are excited and ready to SOAR into this school year!

A very special congratulations to Ms. Marnie Kaplan, first-grade teacher, and Ms. Elizabeth Karp, art teacher, for being presented the CSD Extra Miles Award! Students and their families have the opportunity to nominate staff each year for "their unyielding commitment to inspiring their students to reach ever higher." Thank you to GL students Theo Block and Caden Holdsworth and their families for nominating these two staff members. We are so proud of our crew!

We enjoyed seeing everyone at the Back to School Bash! See you at our Meet and Greet on July 30th from 9:00-11:00!

All K-2 schools have their Meet & Greet scheduled for Thursday, July 30th from 9:00-11:00. This is a brief opportunity for parents, students, and teachers to meet one another and for students to familiarize themselves with the school and the classroom. In order to be efficient and keep things running smoothly, kindergarten families may arrive between 9:00 and 10:00, while 1st and 2nd grade families may arrive between 10:00 and 11:00.

The amazing GL PTO will be stationed in the media center - please pay them a visit! In addition, we will have computers available if you need to register for PickUp Patrol or complete the Annual Update.

Reminder! The CSD Back-to-School Bash is on July 16, 2026, from 4-7 p.m. at the DHS gym. Register in Infinite Campus today!

9-12, Friday, July 31, 2-4 p.m.
