Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) is proud to report great progress of the new Clayton County Public School's convocation center located at the Southlake Mall in Morrow. Clayton County Board of Education Board Liaison Kim Blackwood and three board interns visited the construction site and had a very informative tour with Chief of Construction Ronick Joseph.

The convocation center will be home to a college and career academy, a junior achievement center, and be a site for CCPS events and graduations. The convocation center will be home to a 8,000 seat arena, conference rooms, laboratories, classrooms, and more. The center is expected to open by the end of 2025.

This event will be held at 4609 Jonesboro Road in Forest Park, beginning at 10:00 a.m. and ending at 2:00 p.m.

On Saturday, September 13, 2025, Ms. Jessie Goree, Clayton County Board of Education (CCBOE) member representing District 3, in partnership with the Next Step Education Foundation, the Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation and College Readiness 101, will host the 12th Annual College Fair in the gymnasium at Morrow High School, located at 4300 Steele Road in Ellenwood. The fair will be open 10:00 a.m to 12:30 p.m.
More than 50 colleges, universities, trade schools and college entrance vendors are expected to be in attendance. In excess of 1,000 students and family members, representing Clayton County, Henry County, Fulton County and others are expected to attend the 90-minute college fair.

Clayton County Public Schools District 5 Board Member Dr. Dee Haney invites students, families, and community members to attend the 9th Annual Back 2 School Bash on Friday, August 2, 2025. This exciting event will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Bethlehem City of Faith, located at 514 Valley Hill Road SE in Riverdale, Georgia.

The event will feature free backpacks, school supplies, food, haircuts and hairstyles for boys and girls (while supplies last), as well as fun activities including bounce houses, carnival games, a trackless train, and a game truck.
