Hey friends! I never thought I’d wear scrubs again, but here I am! The last time I wore scrubs was when I worked as an Oncology nurse 10 years ago. When I transitioned from being an RN to an ARPN, I was so excited to wear "real clothes" to work 😂. However, in 2016, a car accident with an 18-wheeler cut my APRN career short, and suddenly I found myself as the patient instead of the provider. It's been a humbling, frustrating, and maddening experience to be in need of care after years of giving care.

Yesterday, something special happened. I was able to put on scrubs again!! For the first time in 10 years, and this time, it signified a milestone. I am functioning as a nurse again! It may be in a different capacity, and only a few times a month, but I made it. I'm doing it. One day at a time. Putting on the scrubs felt like coming home, and I'm excited to see where this fits in to the new nursing education journey that I have been on. First my continuing education business, now I’m adding credentialing nurses aides to my tool belt. Thanks for all your love and support! ❤️

Hanging out in the skills lab last week, while testing nursing assistants for certification, caused a to my Nursing school days!

My scariest nursing skill was insulin! I remember one of my favorite instructors Lynn in the room checking me off, while I was shakily drawing up clear to cloudy insulin. I thought I would NEVER get that right!!

Being on the examiner side vs the one being examined is surreal. Especially when I can see myself in the lab practicing like it was yesterday.

What was your worst or best skills lab moment? Feel free to share! Let me know I’m not the only one that struggled with insulin!🥴😂

Anyone else fallen asleep at CE conference previously? Me too!

Today is the vocabulary parade at my son's school. What word did he choose? Pandiculation. Anyone else know what this word meant before today? It was new to me. helped us choose it.

Pandiculation reminds me of what I usually did at CE conferences. Can you relate? I even may have even been nudged for snoring a time or two.😂 Conference hours are long. It's chilly in the room and the speakers sound like the teacher on Charlie Brown. Wawa-wawa-wawa.

Keeping people awake at CE conferences is one of the reasons that I started my own company. As I mentioned above, I've been the one yawning and snoring. It's embarrassing to snore in a room full of your peers. Not to mention, I need to hear the information that is presented in order to stay up to date on new protocols and/or medications.

Pandiculation. . .will you add it to your vocabulary? I'm not sure I'm adding it to mine; however, I can tell you that I won't forget it any time soon!

I’m still on my high from the amazing Fall Event this weekend! So many AMAZING speakers! Awesome pearls! Enjoyed being surrounded by my group of peers, where EVERYONE knew my name. The staff at the hotel was sooo hospitable and the perfect weather persisted. All the months of hard work came together. I was able to see my dream fulfilled in real time. I can’t wait to do it again!! Come visit one of my CE events! I’ll post the feedback soon. From what others say. . .you WON’T BE DISAPPOINTED! See you Fall 2023. Stay tuned. . .❤️😁👏🏽
