Juneteenth invites us to remember more than a date—it calls us to reflect on the enduring pursuit of freedom, justice, and human dignity.

Explore powerful stories of faith, resilience, and liberation through the Center’s free curriculum. These classroom-ready lessons examine how faith communities responded to oppression, sustained hope in the face of injustice, and helped shape movements for freedom. By connecting historical events to contemporary questions of justice, leadership, and civic responsibility, learners are challenged to consider how the lessons of Juneteenth continue to inform our moral choices today.

Continue the conversation and enroll in our new course Juneteenth: Faith, Freedom, and Justice!

Explore the historical, theological, and civic significance of Juneteenth while examining the enduring relationship between faith, liberation, and the ongoing work of justice.

As we commemorate the delayed arrival of freedom to enslaved African Americans in Texas on June 19, 1865, we are reminded that the work of justice requires both remembrance and action.

Jackson, Mississippi… we felt you. The Drum Major for Justice Alumni stepped into a living history—where courageous resilience still echoes and faith and action still define the ground we walked on.

This wasn’t just about the Civil Rights Movement…
it was about the responsibility we carry because of it.

We came to learn.
We are impacted.
We leave activated.
