Our first Emilia TBT!
Around the time Emilia was 7-8 months old, I started to think of ways to encourage her to crawl, but wanted to have some great sensory experiences too! At this age we got really creative with floor play and E absolutely LOVED it. It seems like yesterday that I was creating sensory crawling paths for her, and now we have a walking one... time seriously flies with this kiddo.
Anyways, now that I’ve gotten all gushy, here is a list of activities that are great for 6-11 month olds! *must be supervised
1. Put a mirror low on the wall to encourage babe to crawl to it. Make faces and talk to your child in the mirror!
2. Do a mess free art project! Put a piece of paper and paint in a sealed ziplock bag and encourage your babe to crawl, touch, move any which way over it!
3. Sensory crawling path. You can basically just find things around your house for this one. I put out post it’s for her to grab, an aluminum foil square taped down and even put beaded necklaces in a bag filled with water!
4. A TUNNEL. This was such a fun addition to our play that we still use all the time. You can play peek-a-boo, encourage movement, add balls to create a ball pit, admire all the bright colors... so many fun things!
Have a babe around this age? What does he or she like to do?! And don’t forget to save this one for something to do on those upcoming cold winter days!
