Dr. Bieschke and the Benton Community School Board recognized three students last night for their exceptional achievement in mathematics on the Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP). Each student received a Superintendent’s Proclamation of Recognition celebrating this impressive accomplishment. Congratulations to Calvin Daily, Madison Lacina, and Kellen Dorman, who were recognized as National Math Stars nominees! ⭐

The National Math Stars Program, a partnership between the Iowa Department of Education and National Math Stars, recognizes and supports students demonstrating exceptional mathematical ability. Iowa third-grade students who score in the top 2% statewide in mathematics on the ISASP are recognized as nominees and invited to apply for the program. In 2026, just 785 third graders across Iowa earned this distinction. There were almost 40,000 third graders in Iowa who participated in the assessment. They were also celebrated by their teacher, Ms. Bastian.

We are incredibly proud to have three Bobcats among this exceptional group of young mathematicians! Congratulations, Calvin, Madison, and Kellen, on your hard work and achievement! 💙💛

New staff were formally welcomed to Benton Community by administrators and teacher leaders on Thursday. Part of the orientation experience included a tour of every community in the district. It provides a great way for our new staff to experience all of the communities and school buildings that make up Bobcat Country while also providing time to get to know each other. We are so fortunate!

Thank you for the generous donation of 32 backpacks, water bottles, and headphones to Benton Community! Over the summer, Lucy Kuhl, 5th grade and Millie Kuhl, 2nd grade ran a lemonade stand in the Newhall area. Through their efforts, they were able to purchase these school supplies for students in grades K-6. Thank you for supporting our community and helping our students thrive!

Join the Benton Athletic Booster Club for the Annual Fall Kick-Off on Friday, August 21 at 5:00 PM as we celebrate the start of another exciting year of Benton Community activities. Meet our fall athletes and marching band members, watch the football team scrimmage on the new turf, enjoy great food, pick up the latest Bobcat gear, and spend an evening celebrating everything that makes our Bobcat community special.

This event is also a great opportunity to become a member of the Benton Athletic Booster Club. Every membership directly supports our student-athletes by helping fund equipment, uniforms, facilities, athletic training, and other improvements that benefit all Benton athletic programs.

Let's pack the stands, celebrate our Bobcats, and kick off an unforgettable year together. Go Bobcats! 🐾💙💛
