As petitioning is a five-week process, October 15th is the last week to begin your process if you are interested in becoming a member. We hope to see a lot of new faces this week and can’t wait to see you there!

Early Friday morning, the Society inducted two new siblings!! Congratulations to Sister Joi Itson and Sister Mackenzie Smith and welcome to a lifelong bond with the siblings of the Phi Kappa Society! To Order!!

On Thursday, Phi Kappa held its annual Decades Debate! The siblings debated two resolutions from the perspective of that time period. From 1887, they debated BIHR: Vigilante Justice Is More Effective Than Territorial Law Enforcement. With a vote of 4 ayes to 19 nays and 1 abstention, the resolution failed amongst siblings. The resolution also failed amongst guests, with a vote of 0 ayes to 9 nays.
From 1827, they debated the second resolution, BIHR: Which Has Been More Useful to Mankind, Law or Medicine. This failed amongst actives with a vote of 2 ayes to 18 nays with 4 abstentions. It also failed among guests with a vote of 2 ayes to 4 nays with 2 abstentions.

Tonight, Phi Kappa is having its annual Decades Debate where we will debate two resolutions from the perspective of that time period! Sister Amelia Davis and Sister Hallie Phillips will lead their respective sides debating the resolution, BIHR: Vigilante Justice is More Effective Than Territorial Law Enforcement, as if it is 1884. Sister Ximena Casanova and Sister Ebun Kayode will lead their sides in the debate, BIHR: Which Had Been More Useful to Mankind, Law or Medicine, from the year 1827. Join us to speak, ask questions, or simply watch the debate. Make sure to dress in your best period-accurate attire! We can’t wait to see you there!

This Thursday, the Phi Kappa Society will be hosting its annual Decades Debate, where we will be debating from the perspectives of two different time periods! This week we will be debating the resolutions, BIHR: Vigilante Justice is More Effective Than Territorial Law Enforcement (Montana Territory 1884) and BIHR: Which Has Been Most Useful or Beneficial to Mankind, Law or Medicine? (1827) Come speak, ask questions, or simply enjoy the debate donning your cowboy boots or best 1820s flair! We can’t wait to see you there!

This Thursday, siblings gathered in the Hall to debate the resolution BIHR: The United States Should Implement a Federal Tax on Junk Food.
With a vote of 9 ayes to 17 nays, the resolution failed amongst siblings. The resolution also failed among guests, with a vote of 4 ayes to 5 nays.
