UGA Facilities Management Division

On Wednesday, June 17, 2026, the Grounds Department will have a contractor removing several pine trees near Brumby Hall. The attached map shows the area where the sidewalk will be temporarily closed during the work.

On Tuesday, June 16, 2026, the Grounds Department will have a contractor removing several unhealthy trees near Four Towers Visitor Center. For safety reasons, the adjacent parking area and sidewalk will be temporarily closed while the tree removal work is being performed.

The Facilities Management Grounds Construction shop will require a lane closure next to Environmental Health on East Green Street from 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM on 6/15/2026 for manhole adjustments.

The Facilities Management Division Maintenance Project Management department will require a road closure/detour for a section of River Road to install a new storm water management system. The section of River Road will be closed starting Thursday, June 12th for approximately five (5) weeks. This is necessary to install piping across the street. Please contact Blaine Pritchett, Project Manager at 404-392-4702 with any questions or concerns.

The Facilities Management Division Maintenance Project Management department will require a sidewalk closure between Russell Hall and Brumby Hall. The sidewalk will be closed starting Monday, June 8th – Friday, June 19th. This is necessary for drainage repairs. Please contact Jeff Dalton, Project Manager at 706-521-9106 with any questions or concerns.

Update: Carlton Street will only be closed today, June 2nd – Thursday, June 4th instead of Friday, June 5th.

The Facilities Management Division Maintenance Project Management Department will be replacing the glass on Tuesday, June 2nd - Thursday, June 4th from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM each day at Stegeman Coliseum. Carlton Street will be closed from the red light at Sanford Drive to the entrance of the parking lot across from Stegeman Coliseum. Signage and traffic control will be in place.

Operations & Maintenance's Lead Fume Hood Technician, David Templeton led a demonstration on the Ashrae 110 Fume Hood testing process. The demonstration was attended by personnel from FMD Engineering, Environmental Safety Department, & Office of the Vice President for Instruction. The Ashrae 110 test is performed upon installation of new fume hoods and on a 5 year interval for high performance hoods across Campus once installed. This test ensures fume hoods are operating safely for our students, teachers, & researchers.
