Flowers In their Hair: A Community Accountability Initiative
A community accountability initiative against sexual assault Flowers in their Hair aims to end sexual assault rather then treat the effects.
We currently work on three levels to achieve this goal. 1- Education through street team work, presentations, and art 2- Provide safer alternatives for individuals downtown by offering to call cabs, walk with them, or call a friend 3- Build up communities and empower individuals to stop the root causes of sexual assault

CeCe is a creative and energetic person who, before her life was so unjustly interrupted, was studying fashion at MCTC. She had a stable home where she lived with and helped support four other African American youth, her family. Cece and her friends were attacked by a group of racist, homophobic white men and women as they walked past a bar. One of the attackers died when Cece's party defended themselves. After her arrest, CeCe was quickly charged with second-degree murder. In short, she was prosecuted for surviving a violent, racist, transphobic attack.

Artwork is going to be key to spreading ideas of consent around Athens, we're going to be talking to local businesses about letting us put work in their buildings. Where would YOU like to see these messages?
We want to start having Safe Space Socials, but that makes us question- What does a safe space consist of? Please let us know what a safe space means to you.
