Dwelling Place Youth Athens Student Ministry
Middle and High School! Wednesdays
High School Bible Study! Sundays

Crafted Student ministries is a place for middle and high school students to experience Jesus through community. Our desire is to create a space where students are able to connect with God through worship, messages, small group time, and fellowship with other students. The goals of being a part of the Crafted community, are to “know Jesus”, to “Be in relationship” with Jesus, and to “Do the Jesus

stuff”. We focus on practical messages that call us deeper into the knowledge of God through scripture. We spend time in worship learning what it means to really love God. Finally, our small groups are places to connect, open up, and be part of the family of God. It is our hope to empower students with knowledge about God, understand what Jesus has done for us, and respond in God’s love through the leading of the Holy Spirit in our daily lives.

High School Evangelism night 8.23.26

God provided so many moments for us to encounter the City of Athens. We met so many wonderful people and were able to pray and minister to them. This was an awesome experience and nobody wanted to leave!

Praise God for the Great Commission!

Thank you so much Rich Suplita / Mary Kathryn Suplita for being with us as we grow in our gifts of evangelism!

IT IS FINALLY TIME!
The weather looks fantastic for tomorrow evening. Many college students are back and there will be lots of opportunities for gospel conversations, prayer, and all around great Jesus moments. Here is the gameplan for tomorrow afternoon:

We will meet in front of the house of prayer at 5:30pm. Once everyone has arrived, we will leave from the house of prayer and park in the parking deck on college street just up from the corner of Clayton and College st. (289 College Ave, Athens, GA 30601).

From there we will head down to the street corner, get set up, and begin our evening. The past two weeks our students have trained with the Suplitas on evangelism models and practiced conversations to prepare for this event. We will NOT be splintering off into groups and walking the street for ministry opportunities. We will patiently wait on the Lord and allow Him to bring people to us.

The areas of concentration of our event are: - offering prayer: especially for students going into the semester- live worship: be ready with songs that you will not have to rely on chord music- whiteboard evangelism: Use the questions on the whiteboard for interactions and Jesus conversations. One of our goals will be to focus on getting people to take the 21 Day Challenge in the Gospel of John. - street preaching: If you feel led to share your testimony or a passage of scripture, BE BOLD and tell the world how God has changed your life.

If the person you are speaking with is not a Christian, ALWAYS offer the Good News and ask them if they would like to have a personal relationship with Jesus. Take plenty of notes and contact info so that we can follow up with people who we interact with.

I AM ENCOURAGING PARENTS TO COME WITH STUDENTS. Not just for safety, but as a form of discipleship!

Next Sunday we will begin to learn about the ides of the New Age Movement and how modern spiritualism has impacted and found its ways into the Church.

Why do we as humans gravitate toward these ideas? Is there any form of power, ethics, or life giving nature found in these practices or objects? How do we recognize, respond, and reject religious relativism? We will be getting into all of these ideas in the next two weeks.

What you are seeing is 1 Corinthians 14.34-15.5; 15.6-15 written sometime near 200 ad. This is one of the earliest copies of Paul's manuscripts to the Corinthian churches that we have. This is what would have arrived to your church as a letter from the Apostle to the Gentile nations.

"6 Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep. 7 Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. 8 Last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared also to me. 9 For I am the least of the apostles, unworthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me. 11 Whether then it was I or they, so we preach and so you believed 12 Now if Christ is proclaimed as raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. 14 And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain. 15 We are even found to be misrepresenting God, because we testified about God that he raised Christ, whom he did not raise if it is true that the dead are not raised."

The church would gather and read the letter as well as encourage one another with scriptural reading from the Greek old testament, sing hymns, recite psalms, break bread, and give testimony to what Jesus had done in their lives.

This Wednesday our high school group will prepare personal reflections on scripture, bring songs they have written, share encouraging testimonies, share needs of prayer with one another, and most importantly, gather as we have done for centuries to bless God by bringing blessing, honor, and glory to Jesus the Christ.

Pray for us as we endeavor to know and experience the Risen Christ in our lives and our youth group!

Next Sunday Night!

Our high school group will be going downtown to worship, pray, evangelize, and be the hands and feet of Jesus to those in need.

I am encouraging parents to come with their students and take part in these outreach events. There is a powerful work of the Holy Spirit when parents and children are ministering together.

Please pray for us through this week and especially next Sunday evening.

What does the Bible say about mental health?

Does Jesus care about my mind or just my soul?

How do I reach out when I am feeling low?

This week on Wednesday night, we will be dealing with a hard topic. Mental health is something that many struggle with and its an epidemic that is worsening with successive generations.

Pray for us as we seek the wisdom of Jesus for our lives and the lives of those around us.
