After 17 years of dedicated service, our beloved House Director, Shirley Tabor, has announced her retirement.
For many of our members and alumnae, it is hard to imagine our chapter home without Shirley. Since joining us in 2009, alongside the construction of our house addition, she has cared for our home and residents with ease, consistency, and genuine care. Over the past 16 years, more than 800 young women have called our house home, and to so many of them, Shirley has been far more than a House Director—she has been Gamma Phi family.
We are grateful that this next chapter begins with a familiar face. Amber Schoonover, a valued member of our current staff, will become our next House Director and move into the house this summer. Amber already knows and cares deeply for our chapter community, and we are excited for her to continue the warm, supportive environment that makes our chapter house feel like home.
Please join us in celebrating Shirley's remarkable legacy and warmly welcoming Amber to her new role.
If you lived in the house while Shirley was present, please feel free to write a note below or send a card to the house. 17 years is a long time to dedicate to our Gamma Phi home. 🌙🏠
