Paving the way 🔬

Ohio University researchers have filed a new patent that could help develop more effective treatments for disorders related to growth hormone, thanks to a discovery that reveals exactly how a groundbreaking drug works at the molecular level.

Filed by researchers in the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Russ Colege, it stems from a collaboration with Dr. John Kopchick and Dr. Sumit Sharma.

Together, along with Russ College Ph.D. student Hemant Nagar, the team used advanced computer modeling to uncover a previously unseen molecular interaction.

Toyota West Virginia recently hosted several members of the Ohio University leadership team. 🚘

The $3.3 billion facility is Toyota's only combined engine, transmission and transaxle plant in North America, with many Russ College alumni working at the plant.

In May, OHIO participated in COSI - Center of Science and Industry's Science Day, the biggest STEAM event in the state. 🐾

Dr. Mark Lucas and Dr. Eric Stinaff were joined by a team of 10 students and staff along with Rufus, backed by an Intel sponsorship. They demonstrated "The Power of Air," a family-friendly lesson on the critical role of air pressure and vacuums in semiconductor manufacturing.

During the team's exhibit, members wore dust-free “bunny suits” while explaining why Intel’s computer components require ultra-clean, airless environments where even a single speck of dust can ruin production. 💻
