UGA VBMA

UGA VBMA The University of Georgia Chapter of the Veterinary Business Management Association Why should you join VBMA?

The VBMA is one of the largest and most active independent student programs in our nation’s Veterinary Schools, with chapters in every Veterinary School in the U.S., and a growing number of chapters internationally. We are an organization that was founded by students, as our predecessors recognized the lack of business education they were receiving in their curriculum. VBMA provides a strong found

ation of general and veterinary specific business education. Our members are those who constantly better themselves and the profession. They are the veterinary students dedicated to pursuing excellence in all facets of their veterinary education and ultimately in their careers.

Meet our BCP Coordinator, Rachel Forsman!

She is from Voorhees, New Jersey and graduated from the University of Vermont in 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Sciences! Rachel is interested in mixed animal medicine with a special interest in dairy and small ruminants. Outside of school, she loves to be outdoors, spending time with friends and family, doing crafts, and watching a good show. She also has a zoo at home, with her cat, Gertrude, puppy, Juniper, gecko, Aggy, and chinchilla, Nimbus. Her favorite part of VBMA is networking and getting to know other students and industry professionals. Exciting connections were made at VBMA’s first-ever Networking Night! 🌟

Students, faculty, and alumni from the Class of 1978 came together to share insights, career advice, and stories from the field. It was inspiring to continue strengthening the bridge between future veterinarians and those already shaping the profession. Events like these remind us that veterinary medicine thrives on collaboration, mentorship, and community.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. We can’t wait to do this again! 🐾

Hey vet dawgs! 🐾

We are very excited to be hosting our second-ever VBMA x UGA CVM Alumni Panel, featuring distinguished alumni from the Class of 1978. They will be discussing how the field has changed since they graduated, where it’s heading in the future, and what skills have helped them out along the way.

Additionally, faculty and staff are being invited to connect with us! This is not just an alumni panel, but also a brand-new, exciting networking night. 🤝

The networking hour will be held from 6-7pm, and the alumni panel will be from 7-8pm. This is a rare opportunity to earn a NETWORKING CREDIT for your VBMA certificates, so do not miss out on this opportunity!

Dinner and drinks will be provided to 25 students. Check your UGA email, or hit the link in our bio to sign up! 🔗

Veterinary professionals have so much to offer the world. Beyond clinical practice, veterinarians help shape the animal health industry through product development, research, regulatory work, and resources that support veterinary teams. They bridge the needs of pet owners, veterinary professionals, and companies, influencing care at scale. Veterinarians who step into these spaces bring clinical judgment, ethical responsibility, and a deep understanding of the patient into decisions that impact millions of animals, and represent the profession and the science that is the ultimate foundation of pet health. 🩺🌎

Join VBMA for another fun lunch meeting where Drs. Caitlin Hering and Rhonda Veit of The Farmer’s Dog share their career journeys and explore how veterinary training can translate into roles that blend science, business, and real world impact both inside and beyond the exam room.

We cannot wait to see you there! Check your UGA email (or click the link in our bio) to sign up for FREE Firehouse Subs!!! 🥳
