Need Summer meals for your students? Weekend bundled summer meals will be available at NO COST at Coile Middle School from 4:15 to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2026.

While meals will not be handed out until 4:30, it is highly recommended to to arrive at 4:15, as meals will be given out on a First Come, First Serve basis.

More BOE news: Also at last night's meeting, the Clarke County Board of Education appointed Johnelle Simpson to the District 8 seat, which is being vacated by Nicole Hull at the end of this month. The term expires in December, and a special election will be held Nov. 3.

Mr. Simpson is an attorney with Fortson, Bentley, and Griffin and previously worked for CCSD as the district's Work-Based Learning Coordinator from 2016-2018 before pursuing his law degree. Please join us in welcoming Mr. Simpson to the board!

During its meeting last night, the Clarke County Board of Education elected Mark Evans of District 9 as the new Board President after Dr. Mumbi Anderson announced she was stepping down from the role but will remain on the board in her District 6 seat. Mr. Evans is in his first term on the board and has been elected to serve a second term beginning in January 2027. He has served as Vice President since 2024. The board will elect a new Vice President at a later date. Congratulations to Mr. Evans on the new role, and thank you to Dr. Anderson for your service!

REMINDER that during our modified District Office summer schedule (June 1 through July 17), the office will be open 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Monday through Thursday and closed on Fridays. In addition to the Fridays during this timeframe, we will be closed on Thursday, June 18, and Thursday, July 2. We will resume regular business hours (8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Monday through Friday) on Monday, July 20.

Want some meals for the weekend? Come see us at Coile Middle School located at 110 Old Elberton Road on Thursday, June 11th!

We will begin handing out weekend bundled meals at 4:15pm! They will be served on a first come, first serve basis. Once we serve them all, we will close for the day. Your meal bundles will include a handout that will provide you with the menu for the weekend and reheating/preparation instructions.

Follow the signs to find the door to the cafeteria. We will be waiting just inside the side door. Parents/guardians may pick up meals for children ages 18 and under. You will have to fill out some information before you leave with your meals.

GTC University 16 Cinemas invites CCSD families to the 2026 Summer Kid Show Series! On Tuesdays and Thursdays this summer, enjoy weekly movies with $2 admission, $2 drinks, $2 popcorn and snacks, while enjoy a different PG-rated film each week!

Yesterday, we launched an exciting new partnership with MedLink Georgia that will increase CCSD students' access to easy, affordable, and convenient vision care! The MedLink Vision Bus began seeing patients this week, providing vision exams and glasses to students who need them. We will be coordinating with MedLink to bring the Vision Bus to schools across CCSD beginning in the 2026-27 school year, so stay tuned for future announcements and updates!
