I was delighted to welcome Dr. Meltem Altun Özarslan to the Department of Mathematics at Ohio University on July 20, 2026. Dr. Ozarslan, a lecturer at Hacettepe University and a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the University of California, Irvine, visited our department through the support of the Fulbright Outreach Lecturing Program Fund.

As part of her visit, the American Mathematical Society, Ohio University Department of Mathematics Graduate Chapter (AMSOU) organized a seminar where she presented an excellent talk titled From Idempotent Lifting to Lifting Morphisms. The seminar sparked engaging discussions and provided valuable insights for graduate students and faculty members alike.
On behalf of AMSOU, thank you, Dr. Meltem Altun Ozarslan, for taking the time to visit our department and for sharing your knowledge and expertise with our academic community. We truly appreciate your contribution and look forward to future opportunities for collaboration.
