Meet Dr. Jordan Khail, lecturer at the UGA College of Pharmacy.

His career has taken him from community pharmacy to the Georgia Drugs and Narcotics Agency and, ultimately, to the classroom, where he now helps prepare the next generation of pharmacists.

Congratulations to Dr. Lorenzo Villa Zapata, assistant professor, on receiving a Georgia CTSA Pilot Grant for a project examining access to CAR-T cell therapy.

The research will combine real-world clinical data with geospatial and economic modeling to identify geographic and community-level factors associated with disparities in access to treatment. The goal is to help inform policies and interventions that improve equitable access to advanced cancer care.

Dr. Villa Zapata's collaborators include Lan Mu, Xin (Cynthia) Hu, Mohammed Zuber and Shaimaa Elshafie. The grant is part of a new round of Georgia CTSA Pilot Awards supporting investigators at UGA, Emory and Georgia Tech.

Congratulations to Dr. Lori J. Duke, Assistant Dean for Experience Programs, who has received the coveted American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) Experiential Education Section Award of Excellence in Experiential Education. Widely recognized as a national expert in her field, Dr. Duke was recognized for her commitment and contributions to pharmacy experiential education during her almost 30-year career.

Dr. Duke’s notable accomplishments include being the founding chair of the Southeastern Pharmacy Experiential Education Consortium, a co-recipient of the prestigious AACP Rufus A. Lyman Award, a past chair of the AACP Experiential Education Section, and past President of the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education's Board of Directors. Way to go, Dr. Duke!
