When your coworkers are up in your business... 😂

“DO YOU KNOW THE MUFFIN MAN?”
“THE MUFFIN MAN?”
“THE MUFFIN MAN!” 🤣

Just another perfectly normal day at NRVTA.

💧 100 gallons of fresh water weighs more than 800 POUNDS!

That’s a lot of extra weight to carry down the highway.

Todd’s advice? Don’t travel heavy.

A full fresh water tank can mean more weight, reduced fuel economy, and additional load on your RV and the components supporting that tank.

You may need some water on board for restroom stops or other needs—but Todd recommends planning ahead instead of automatically filling your tank completely before a travel day.

If you’ll need more water at your destination, there are apps and resources that can help you find places to fill up along your route.

This is Tip #3 from Todd’s 7 Traveling Tips for Your RV. Watch the full Tech Tip Tuesday for all seven!

Did you know your lithium battery may have a “brain” inside it?

It’s called a BMS — Battery Management System — and it plays an important role in how your battery operates.

🔥 Do you travel with your RV propane on?

Todd’s recommendation: Don’t.

If you’re running an absorption refrigerator on propane, that means you have an open flame operating while you’re traveling.

While traveling with propane on may be permitted in many situations, Todd explains why he recommends shutting it off—especially when your refrigerator is running on propane.

SLIDES FIRST OR LEVEL FIRST?

When you pull into a campsite, should you extend your RV slides first or hit auto level first?

The answer might depend on the type of RV you have.

This week on Todd’s Two Minute Tech Tip Tuesday, Robert Healy, NRVTA’s Exterior Systems Instructor, explains the difference between setting up a travel trailer or fifth wheel versus a motorized RV.

He also covers why the order matters, how your slide system is supported, and what to do if your RV needs an adjustment after the slides are out.

🎥 Watch the full Tech Tip and tell us in the comments: Which have you been doing first, slides or level?

10 YEARS in the RV industry… and his first week at NRVTA blew him away.

Dean came to NRVTA with decades of RVing experience and about 10 years working in the RV industry. He thought he already knew a lot.

Then he went through RV Fundamentals.

“I have learned so much just in fundamentals that it just blows my mind.”

Now, only two weeks in, Dean says his confidence has already grown—and he wishes he had come to NRVTA a long time ago.

One quick check at the fuel pump could help catch an RV problem before it becomes a roadside breakdown.

When you stop for fuel, grab an infrared temperature gun and check the temperature around each axle spindle.

You’re not just looking for a specific number—you’re looking for one that’s significantly hotter than the others. If most are around 110–120°F and one is hitting 160–190°F, that’s a warning sign you don’t want to ignore.

An unusually hot spindle could mean it’s time to stop traveling and figure out what’s going on before continuing down the road.
