Saturday a.m.: Good news, Dawgs: the residence halls have seen no major impacts from Hurricane Isaias at this time. No power outages, flooding or significant tree damage has been reported. We’re continuing to monitor the situation and have staff and supplies on site to support.

A message from the University of Georgia: We are closely monitoring potential impacts from Hurricane Isaias this weekend, and the safety of the university community is our top priority.

We encourage the entire UGA community to closely monitor weather conditions, sign up for severe weather alerts at ugaalert.uga.edu, and prepare for potential impactful weather over the weekend.

While no decisions to alter operations at the Athens campus have currently been made, our office is coordinating with other UGA units to help ensure the safety of our campus. Additional updates to the campus community will be made as warranted.

As a reminder, any announcements regarding UGA’s response, including schedule changes, cancellations and campus closures, will be made through official UGA channels, including ArchNews, emergency.uga.edu, and UGA’s X ().

🏠 Could your student be a Resident Assistant?

Resident Assistants (RAs) shape the learning experience of 30 to 75 students in their residential community. RAs are peer leaders who help build community, assist with student concerns, and educate residents about their responsibilities as members of a residential community.

If your student is interested in making an impact in their residence hall community, encourage them to consider applying! Applications close November 14th.
