The Morning Fax team highlighted students in our Welding and Collision Repair programs and their partnership with the Etowah Rural Fire Dept. in upgrading a swift water rescue trailer!

This opportunity was a great way for our students and emergency response teams to work together for the betterment of our community and such an honor for our staff and students at TCAT to be able to help our dedicated emergency response teams.

This October, TCAT Athens nursing students honored the strong women in our community whose lives have been touched by breast cancer.

To those facing a diagnosis, undergoing treatment, or finding their way through life afterwards remember this…. we see you, we think of you, and we stand beside you. We honor your courage and recognize that even the strongest women need comfort, support, and a place to lean.

We lovingly remember those who are no longer with us. Their lives, their love, and the people they touched will never be forgotten. To the families carrying their memory, our hearts are with you.

As future nurses, our students are learning that caring begins with seeing the person behind the diagnosis a mother, daughter, sister, friend, or neighbor whose story matters.

From our TCAT Athens family to yours: you are valued, you are loved, and you do not have to face this mountain alone. Our support extends far beyond October. 💗

We're Hiring: Vice President of Finance and Operations
Tennessee College of Applied Technology - Athens is seeking an experienced, strategic leader to serve as our next Vice President of Finance and Operations.

Reporting directly to the President, this executive role provides leadership and oversight for the College's financial, administrative, and operational functions. The Vice President will help ensure responsible stewardship of institutional resources while supporting TCAT Athens' mission of providing high-quality technical education.

Key Responsibilities
Lead financial planning, budgeting, accounting, reporting, payroll, purchasing, and risk management.
Provide executive oversight of human resources and financial aid operations.
Direct facilities management, campus safety, emergency preparedness, and capital improvement planning.
Ensure compliance with TBR policies and applicable state and federal regulations.
Oversee grants, procurement, contracts, audits, and internal controls.
Advise the President and serve on the Executive Leadership Team.
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in a related field and have at least five years of progressively responsible leadership experience in finance, accounting, business administration, or operations.

A relevant master's degree, professional certification such as a CPA or CGFM, and experience in higher education, government, grants administration, facilities, or procurement are preferred.
