It was a wonderful experience and a meaningful opportunity to give back to a community that has welcomed and supported us. At Innovative, caring for others goes beyond the classroom, it means showing up, lending a hand, and making a difference together.

We are so proud to celebrate two of our newest Certified Nursing Assistants at Innovative Healthcare Institute!

Jordyn and Nikia worked hard, stayed focused, and truly handled business throughout their training. Their dedication has paid off, and we are excited to watch them take the next step in their healthcare careers.

We are also extremely grateful to the Northeast Georgia Black Chamber of Commerce. Both Jordyn and Nikia were recipients of scholarships that helped make their training possible. Without this financial assistance, they may not have been able to take the course and pursue this important career opportunity.

We are so proud of Rasherra and Ashley, two Certified Phlebotomists educated and trained by Innovative Health Care Institute!

They are currently completing their 60-hour phlebotomy externship in our Wellness Center, where they are putting their classroom and laboratory training into real-world practice.

Both ladies are doing an amazing job—building confidence, strengthening their clinical skills, working with patients, and preparing for the next step in their healthcare careers.

In 1920 a Black woman from Milledgeville beat the state of Georgia, and most folks have never heard her name. 💐

Ludie Clay Andrews finished her nursing training at MacVicar Hospital at Spelman in 1906. In 1914 she founded the training school for Black nurses at Grady and ran it herself. But Georgia would not license Black nurses, which meant these women could do the work all day long and never be called registered. So she went after the state board. They eventually offered to hand her a license, just hers, quietly, so she would go away. She turned it down. 🚫

She kept pushing for close to ten years until 1920, when Black nurses graduating from accredited Georgia schools finally got to sit the same state exam as everybody else. She could have taken the easy yes and been the only one. She held out until the door was open for all of them. Who is the person in your family who refused the easy way out so the folks behind them would not have to?
