In search of a summer job (or internship)?

Rising Appalchia is a summer day camp in Millfield, Ohio (Athens County). If you have an interest in environmental education, sustainable agriculture, childcare, and programming, this might be the position for you.

The entry position pays $12 an hour for 9 weeks of the summer. I'm not sure if it is 40 hours a week, but it is definitely pretty close.

I know there haven't been many applications submitted, so apply! If you have any questions, let me know. I would be happy to help with resumes too.

Dear students and parents,

We hope your spring has been off to a wonderful start! Please read this email through for the information regarding the workshops on Saturday, April 15 and Tuesday, May 16, 2017.

Due to the spring holiday season, the UB staff has elected to cancel the April workshop to allow our students to enjoy the fun of the spring season. Because this workshop was the Service Learning workshop, we still encourage our students to volunteer in their respective communities. Although community service is not mandatory, it is an excellent way to build your resumes for college applications. Please see the list below to explore community service options near you:

As the academic year will come to an end, our Upward Bound academic year staff will be starting new jobs and returning to their homes outside of Athens. As a result, our office will be short-staffed, making it difficult to put on an excellent workshop for our students. For this reason, we will be cancelling the workshop on Tuesday, May 16. This workshop was the Junior College Tour, so we encourage our juniors (and anyone else who may be interested) to register for an OHIO Up Close day to extensively explore a college within Ohio University. This is not mandatory, but if you are interested, please follow the link: https://www.ohio.edu/admissions/visit/special-programs/ohio-up-close.cfm. If you elect to participate in an OHIO Up Close day, please notify the UB office and we will pay for your parking for the day.
