CAES Alumnus David Blanton (BSA '84) turned his passion for the outdoors into a groundbreaking career in outdoor television, helping build the iconic Realtree brand and shape the hunting industry for generations.

As host of Realtree Outdoors and a leader in outdoor media, Blanton has spent decades connecting audiences to nature while promoting conservation, ethical hunting, and a love of the outdoors.

Today, he hopes to inspire the next generation to appreciate and protect natural resources through the same experiences that first sparked his own passion.

✨We had the BEST time celebrating these 6️⃣ incredible CAES alumni being recognized as UGA’s 40 Under 40 ✨

CAES students, faculty, and leadership were able to drop in for cookies and conversation with the honorees at Conner Hall this afternoon, and it was a hit! We are so proud of these ! 🐾❤️

These are just a few achievements of many CAES alumna Corrie Mays has accomplished since earning her Bachelors in Environmental Sciences in 2003.

🌟 alumna Corrie Mays (BSES ’03) knew exactly what she wanted to do: She wanted to be a Marine, and she wanted to fly jets.

After studying environmental economics and management at CAES, Mays joined the U.S. Marine Corps, where she graduated top of her class in flight school.

In 2014, she was selected to the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, the Navy's elite Flight Demonstration Squadron, as just the second woman to wear a number on her flight suit.

We are proud to celebrate The Delta Air Lines Foundation's recent $5 million gift to UGA's Hospitality and Food Industry Management program!

This investment will help renovate the Georgia Center for Continuing Education & Hotel, creating state-of-the-art learning spaces including event and beverage management labs, a teaching kitchen, and hands-on training facilities that will prepare the next generation of hospitality leaders.

We are thrilled that Ron Walcott has been named interim Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost for the University of Georgia beginning August 1.

🌟 CAES alumnus Ron Walcott has been named the University of Georgia's interim senior vice president for academic affairs and provost, effective August 1st, 2026.

A widely respected campus administrator and decorated faculty member, Walcott (Ph.D. – Plant Pathology, ’99) has served the university as professor of plant pathology, vice provost for graduate education and dean of the UGA Graduate School.
