RESEARCH OPPORTUNITY!

HELP IMPROVE ACCESS TO GENETIC TESTING FOR CHILDREN WITH NEURODEVELOPMENTAL DISORDERS

We are seeing HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS who:
✅ Who are at least 18 years old
✅ Provide services to children with neurodevelopmental disorders
✅Serve children and their families living in Appalachian counties
✅Participate in clinical care, referrals, care coordination, or specialty services
EXAMPLES INCLUDE: Pediatricians, Neurologists, Therapy Professionals, Pediatric Specialty Care Providers, Geneticists, Genetic Counselors, Care Coordinators, and/or Social Workers

What to Expect:
Participants will:
✅ Participate in a one-time group discussion (~60 minutes)
✅Share perspectives regarding referral pathways, barriers to care, and opportunities for improvement

Time, Location, and Compensation
🕒 The study will take about 60 minutes total
💻 The study will be conducted online through Microsoft Teams
💥Participants will recieve a $75 gift card for completing study activities

Recently, the CTRU spent a great day building confidence, preparedness, and teamwork!

Our annual Safety Day gave us the opportunity to brush up on CPR, review business continuity plans, refresh emergency preparedness procedures, and revisit important safety practices like spill cleanup and response protocols.

Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to a day focused on learning, collaboration, communication, and keeping safety at the forefront of everything we do.

Why Participate?
Researchers at Ohio University are studying how young children play and move in their everyday environments. We will observe children during normal play and ask caregivers to share information about their child’s development and school readiness. This research may help improve programs supporting children with developmental delays or disabilities.

Eligibility
We are seeking parents or guardians of a child who…
* Is between 3-5 years old
* Is typically developing OR has a developmental disability or developmental delay, is pending a diagnosis, or showing signs of speech, language, or social delays

What to Expect
Parents or guardians will attend one lab visit where their child will be video recorded for about 15 minutes during typical, unstructured play. They will also complete brief questionnaires about their child’s development and school readiness.

Time and Location
* One study visit lasting approximately 15–30 minutes
* The visit will occur in the Pediatric Functional Mobility Lab (FUN Lab) located in Grover Center on the Ohio University Athens campus
