“AI: Friend or Foe?” Certificate Program
The Pre-Professional Advising Office presents a new certificate program, “AI: Friend or Foe?”, a thought-provoking exploration into the transformative power of artificial intelligence and its potential to revolutionize industries, improve lives, and challenge our very understanding of what it means to be human. Join us for in-depth interactive sessions and discussions on the promises, risks, and ethical dilemmas surrounding AI as we navigate the fine line between friend and foe. Sessions will be held in MLC 245 from 4pm to 5pm every Wednesday January 29th through April 16th (excluding Spring Break). All participants must bring their laptops.

Medical School Application Orientation

Are you planning on applying to medical school in the upcoming cycle? Do you need help figuring out where you should start? Join the premed advisors for an Applicant Orientation on Tuesday, January 21st from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM via Zoom. This orientation is specifically for third and fourth-year students and alumni. Find out what the application looks like, what information to collect, and how to get started. The first test of medical school is applying early. Attend this orientation to begin considering your application and reduce anxiety about becoming a medical school applicant in the spring.

Pre-Health Personal Statement Workshop Still Accepting Registrations

Are you applying to health professional school in 2025? Get the resources you need to write your personal statement through the Pre-Health Personal Statement Workshop! Pre-Med Introductory Orientation

Congratulations to Taz Qadri, the winner of the 2024 Excellence in Innovation Award! Ms. Qadri has been a part of the Pre-Professional Advising Office since 2018, where she primarily supports our pre-veterinary and pre-PA students. She oversees our Health Disparities and Equity Certificate program, and she developed our Bioethics and Healthcare program and our First Responder Health Disparity Awareness Program (FRHDA). The FRHDA program was recently recognized in the September issue of Insight Into Diversity magazine, earning the 2024 Inspiring Programs in STEM Award. We are incredibly proud of the innovative and impactful contributions Taz has made for our UGA Pre-Professional students!

DAT Success Panel

MCAT Panel

Are you applying to medical school in the next application cycle? Are you studying or planning to begin studying for the MCAT? Join us for an MCAT Panel via Zoom on Monday, September 30th, from 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM. Current UGA students applying to medical school during the 2024-2025 cycle will offer tips and answer questions regarding the MCAT. All the panelists scored in the 85th percentile or higher. Registration for the 2025 MCAT begins on Wednesday, October 2nd. If you plan on taking the MCAT next year, this event offers an opportunity to ask questions that may help you improve your score.
