Kappa Alpha Theta is the first Greek-letter organization known among women, with the four women initiating themselves on January 27, 1870. Dearing home on Milledge Avenue, now Sorority Row, and established the Gamma Delta Chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta in 1937. Through the years, Kappa Alpha Theta has grown to its current size of 128 college chapters, 282 alumnae groups, and more than 210,000 members.
