Learning on the wild side 🦒 🦏

As a part of an OHIO Honors course this past spring semester, students took part in a one-of-a-kind learning experience at The Wilds to see the conservation center's ecological restoration work.

The Wilds is a conservation center that spans 10,000+ acres of pastures, forest and lakes. The course involved virtual class sessions before and after the trip, looking at the "normal" state of nature and how it changes.

The course was taught by Brooks Kohli, assistant professor of instruction in the Department of Biological Sciences, and Genelle Uhrig, director of ecology at The Wilds.

Buildings that once were...

Did you know the first gymnasium on campus was located on Park Place? It became the Women's Gym in 1923 when the Men's Gymnasium, now Bentley Hall, was built.

It was demolished in 1966 to make room for Alden Library.
