Our Travel Journalism Maymester programs take students to cool places. Our newest program focused on theme park and food writing immersed 22 students at Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort to produce storytelling for social media, The Atlanta Journal-Constitutionand GradyNewsource.

Senior Lecturer Lori Johnston (ABJ ’95, MFA ’17), created the program, which included alumni Carole Munroe (ABJ ’82), Eric Baker (ABJ ’90), Cameron Klaus (ABJ ’09), Allison Thiel (AB ’22), Tom Johnson (ABJ ’90) and Ashlyn Webb (AB ’19), as guest speakers.

Today is World Photography Day. To celebrate we took a closer look at a premier international photography event that six Grady College photojournalists participated in this summer: capturing events surrounding World Cup.

As students return to campus each fall, it is always to fun to hear about their summer experiences. Twenty-four John Huland Carmical Sports Media Institute students will be able to share about their experience traveling across North America to report on the world’s largest sporting event, the FIFA World Cup.

Faculty and graduate students are taking part in the (AEJMC) Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication annual conference in New Orleans this week.

Several faculty and graduate students will be honored for their outstanding work during the conference and numerous individuals will be presenting their work during poster presentations, sessions and discussions.
