We had a very festive holiday sing-along today!

🎄 In November, I reached out to several CCSD schools to ask how we could help this holiday season. They requested gift cards to Walmart and Target in increments of $10 to distribute to students and families in need. 🎄
Our Day School family and friends have generously donated $350 in gift cards for our CCSD students and families! We will continue to accept donations through Thursday, December 12th. Let's keep pushing and see if we can get to $500!
Where: Emmanuel Episcopal Day School
When: Weekdays, 9:00 AM -1:00 PM
Deadline: Thursday, December 12th

Attention Day School Families - Would your child like to participate in Emmanuel’s Children’s Christmas Pageant? Ms. Allison, our Music and Movement Teacher, highly recommends it! I’ve heard it’s very organized and easy for parents (win-win!). The link to sign up is in our bio!

I’m so excited to see everyone tomorrow morning!
My name is Emily Hoffman-Smalling and I am the Acting Director at Emmanuel Episcopal Day School.
Our current students and families know me as Ms. Emily, one of the Two’s teachers. I’ve been an Assistant in Ms. Sara’s class for almost two years. I feel very lucky to have landed at EEDS, especially with such a wonderful teacher. Sara and I have had an incredible time together teaching and laughing with the adorable little rascals in our classes. I love that I get to see our “alumni” pass by our room each morning as they head upstairs to the 3s and 4s classrooms. It is very special to get to watch them grow and get ready to head off to elementary school!
Swipe left to see my crew at home: my partner Matt, our twin daughters, Harper and Stella, our youngest Marlowe, plus our two dogs, Dolly and Leroy. We have lived in Normaltown for the past nine years.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master of Arts in Health Studies. I taught high school before our twins were born and later started an Event Planning company, primarily based in Atlanta. The company was highly respected within the industry and awarded The Knot’s Best of Weddings for eight consecutive years, earning us a spot in their Hall of Fame. After fourteen successful years, I ultimately chose to close the business to reclaim my weekends at home with our family. Throw in a Covid year or so wrangling virtual school for three kids, and a year or so trying my hand at residential project management, I finally landed in the perfect fit for me and my family at EEDS.
I love creating, organizing, and implementing systems that simplify life for all! I love working with young children and I love Emmanuel Episcopal Day School!

We are grateful for big coats and sunshine on these cold days and our indoor cozy spaces when we need for lots of art, music, puzzles, and dancing to keep us busy inside. Hard work is fun work here!

January hallway art is brought to you by the 3 Day 3s with Ms. Denise and Ms. Catherine. They read the wonderful winter book “Snowy Day” by Ezra Jack Keats (1962). Then studied snow and were asked to think about what they would do (as we don’t get much snow in Georgia it really is like dreaming of a winter fairytale). Their verbal and artistic responses were beautifully created and displayed. Thank you for great art on these cold days to make us smile (even if there’s no snow for us this year).

Our very own, Emmanuel Episcopal Day School has opened registration for the 2024-2025 school year for everyone. We serve children who will be 2-4 years old by September 1, 2024. Please share on your page to help us fill our school with precious students and extend the Emmanuel community for another year. Email me with any questions or ideas how to help us advertise. Thank you! Kate Long, [email protected]

What a fun first week back! We explored snow, ice, cold, freeze, and more. Checkout the ice and sticks outside used to make art. Nature is so cool and exciting as it ever changes.
