From Canton to Camilla, behavioral health training is reaching schools across Georgia.

Over the past several weeks, the David Ralston Institute, in partnership with the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) and the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE), brought behavioral health awareness training curriculum developed by Will and Joy Schofield, to educators across the state. Together, we're helping equip school personnel with the knowledge and tools to better support students.

Thank you to Dr. Garry McGiboney for coordinating training sites and everyone who participated and to the Georgia Regional Educational Service Agencies (RESA) for hosting trainings throughout the state.

Take a look at highlights from the training series, and read more about the statewide initiative at the link below.

Research, education, and outreach come together through the ATV/UTV Safety Program to promote safer riding practices across Georgia.

"UTVs and ATVs are fun and practical machines that help people get work done around their homes, farms, and properties. Unfortunately, we are seeing an increase in serious injuries and fatalities involving these vehicles on Georgia's roadways. Our goal is to help riders understand the laws and follow proven safety practices so they can enjoy a safe and responsible ride. No trip, task, or ride is worth risking your life," said Kyle Haney, Rural Health Manager at the David Ralston Institute for Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities.

Learn more about the program in the recent UGA Columns feature.
