🎨 Day One is a wrap! 🎨

​We had such a wonderful first day at the Oil Painting Workshop at the Arboretum - The Portrait from Life by Annie Johnson!
Everyone did an amazing job laying down their initial block-ins and capturing our live model.
​It’s been an incredible, creative day with the Henderson County Art Club at the East Texas Arboretum & Botanical Society. We can’t wait to get back to the easels and see the finished portraits tomorrow afternoon! ✨🖌️

Beat the heat during the Dog Days of Summer at the East Texas Arboretum & Botanical Society! 🐶☀️

We love seeing your four-legged family members out enjoying nature with you! Leashed, well mannered, pets are always welcome to explore our shady trails, but keeping them cool and healthy is our top priority in this Texas heat.

Tips for a safe & fun visit with your pup:
💧Stay Hydrated: Bring plenty of fresh water for your stroll.
🍵Refill Stations: We have 3 watering bowls located in the front manicured garden area for a quick splash and sip!
🐾Paws on the Trail: Watch out for warm surfaces and take frequent rest stops in the shade.
🌻Please respect garden etiquette and don't allow pets in the manicuted beds.
💩Please ensure that you clean up after your pet and dispose of waste in the proper receptacles.

Ready to take your portrait painting skills to the next level?

Join the Henderson County Art Club for a two-day Portrait from Life Oil Painting Workshop led by classical realist artist Annie Johnson. Learn how to capture a portrait from a live model using the direct method while receiving expert instruction in a supportive learning environment.

🖌 Beginners are welcome, although some experience with oil paints is helpful.
