From Athens to LA ✈️

More than 50 of our MBA and MSBA students made the trip to Los Angeles for the National Black MBA Association Conference & Career Expo - connecting with employers, exploring opportunities, building relationships, and representing Terry along the way.

Conferences like NBMBAA give our students the opportunity to take their career search beyond campus and engage directly with organizations and professionals from across the country. We’re especially proud of how this group showed up - prepared, curious, and ready to make the most of every conversation.

A huge thank you to the employers, alumni, and partners who spent time connecting with our students throughout the week. These conversations, insights, and connections are what make experiences like this so valuable.

We loved seeing our students make new connections, reconnect with familiar faces, and experience everything the conference had to offer.

Earlier this month, we welcomed our Full-Time MBA and MS Business Analytics Advisory Board to Atlanta for our annual Fall Board Meeting, centered on what’s next for our programs, our students, and the business landscape they’re preparing to enter.

The meeting included updates on the state of our programs and partnerships, incoming class demographics, new strategic developments, and innovations happening across Terry. Most importantly, our Board members rolled up their sleeves for a breakout discussion focused on a question that continues to shape the future of business education: How do we prepare our students for an increasingly AI-enabled workplace?

Board members shared perspectives on the specific AI capabilities they expect to be most in demand over the next three to five years - including generative AI, predictive analytics, and process automation - and discussed how MBA and MSBA students can build the skills, experiences, and business judgment needed to use these tools effectively.

These conversations are exactly why our Full-Time MBA and MSBA Advisory Board matters. By bringing together perspectives from across industries and functions, our Board helps us stay connected to the evolving needs of the market and continue strengthening the experiences we provide our students.

A huge thank you to our Board members for sharing their time, expertise, and candid feedback - and for helping us think boldly about what comes next for the University of Georgia Full-Time MBA and MSBA programs.

Earlier this month, our Full-Time MBA and MSBA students kicked off fall recruiting season in a BIG way at Terry MBA/MSBA Career Connections – Fall Recruiting Kick-Off at Maggiano’s in Atlanta!

This year’s event brought together 150+ students and 90+ external partners and alumni guests representing 50+ companies - creating an incredible room full of conversations, connections, and opportunities. We were especially excited to see such a strong showing from our Terry alumni, who came out in force to connect with students, share their experiences, and represent organizations across industries.

As students head into fall recruiting, experiences like this give them the opportunity to expand their networks, gain valuable industry perspective, and build relationships that can carry well beyond recruiting season.

A huge thank you to every alum, employer, and friend of Terry who joined us. The energy in the room was a testament to the strength of the Terry community and the incredible network surrounding our students.

From finance to analytics 📊

For this Alumni Feature, we’re highlighting Alex Medearis, an MSBA 2026 graduate who used the program to turn a strong foundation in finance into a career focused on analytics.

Alex credits the MSBA with helping make that transition through “its curriculum and opportunities to connect with industry leaders and fellow young analysts.”

Along the way, he took advantage of the flexibility to shape the program around their own career goals, building on the core curriculum with electives in sports analytics and marketing analytics. As Alex shared, “the elective courses and networking opportunities allow students to tailor the MSBA to their unique interests,” creating opportunities to develop expertise in the areas that matter most to them.

Alex's experience is a great example of how the MSBA can help students build on where they’ve been while creating a path toward where they want to go next. 🐾
