Here’s another image from yesterday morning. While I was shooting my original composition, I noticed the light was hitting a barn behind me but from my location I couldn’t see the rising sun. So of course, I walked down the road until I could see the sun and positioned it so that I could get a nice sun burst.

“Certain things catch your eye, but pursue only those that capture your heart."

Oddly enough I don’t seem to shoot the moon at night. I’d much rather capture it early in the evening or early morning when there’s still enough light to turn the sky blue instead of black.

On our last sunset of the workshop, we made the hike out to Lindy Point. With the amount of snow on the ground we had to start our hike from the sled run area which added almost an extra mile. It was a cold and blustery day, and the heavy snow had pulled the rhododendrons and briers over the trail making it harder to reach our destination. Once we had arrived at the point the winds were howling with a bone chilling bite. Fortunately, we had come prepared for old man winter!
Whether you come seeking solitude, adventure, or simply a moment of quiet meditation, Lindy Point offers a sanctuary with an amazing view.
