We are thrilled to announce that Highland Community College Adult Education has been awarded a $139,000 grant from the Patterson Family Foundation to support our new Rural Pathways to Opportunity initiative!

This investment will help us expand educational and workforce opportunities for adults across rural northeast Kansas by providing access to:

✅ Industry-recognized credentials
✅ Career navigation and supportive services

For more than 40 years, Highland Community College Adult Education has been committed to helping adult learners build brighter futures. The graduation of our Adult Education students represents the culmination of a dream for each student and their families. Our staff has had the joy of working with them throughout the year. We gather students from the previous graduation on June 2, 2025 to the current graduation on June 7, 2026 to celebrate and with 23 graduates and 17 Tech graduates we are delighted to celebrate their remarkable achievement!

It was a wonderful and inspiring Martin Luther King, Jr. Service of Worship in Atchison yesterday, January 19, 2026.
Our Call to Worship reminded us that we are called to stand against injustice, inequality, and oppression, just as our Lord and Savior did—because injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.
The message was beautifully grounded in Micah 6:8: “He has told you, O mortal, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” This scripture served as the inspiration for the powerful message shared by Dr. Seante Ford, Pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church.
A special bonus for me was reconnecting with a former student and former Advisory Board members who once supported our work with HCC Adult Education. Moments like these truly remind us of the lasting impact of community and service
