Seven days in my new classroom, getting used to the block schedule & new school color but I love being in the classroom again. The department has been so helpful, the kids are excited to learn & keeping me motivated despite having a busy day with no prep period.
Got to meet with HOSA student leadership on Friday & explore HOSA website with all classes, closing Friday’s lesson with the HOSA-FHP Creed;

I recognize the universal need for quality, compassionate healthcare.

I understand the importance of academic excellence, skills training, and leadership development in my career pathway.

I believe through service to my community and to the world, I will make the best use of my knowledge and talents.

I accept the responsibility of a health professional and seek to find my place on a team equally committed to the well-being of others.

Therefore, I will dedicate myself to promoting health and advancing healthcare as a student, a leader, an educator, and a member of HOSA-Future Health Professionals.
Becca Pollard thank you for my flowers, they brighten my room! I did manage to squeeze in a Lego lesson this past week.
Wishing all my fellow educators a great year!

New Times highlighting Ca phone free school act & Paso Robles Schools pathways this month.
Excited to join Paso HS Career and Technical Education teachers this week. They have been developing their programs for over a decade & currently have 18 pathways and successful FFA & Skills USA programs. I hope to increase access to California HOSA this year in the medical pathway.

A return-to-play decision isn't a recommendation.

It's a clinical call made by a licensed, board-certified healthcare provider. One who has assessed the injury, monitored the recovery, and determined what's safe.

That authority deserves to be respected.
Not questioned by a coach.
Not overridden by an administrator.
Not dismissed because someone doesn't understand the expertise behind it.

ATs are healthcare professionals, and their clinical decisions should be treated as such.

Share this to advocate for the often overlooked value ATs bring.

📸 May 30, 2026 participated in Central Coast FCA fundraiser football championship for my fourth year.
Working alongside Johnathan Liaos
a graduate of DOHS program & UNLV. At least two years we have been on opposite sides of the field supporting these senior athletes in their last game. Early introduction to health careers is so important.
I had two sports medicine students with me from Atascadero High School including Grace Lewis who will be graduating in just a few days. She was on the FCA sideline the past three years with me, each year taking on more responsibility. University of Nevada at Reno sports medicine will be lucky to have her join their team next year.

I read a few weeks ago when it came out. Valuable and inspiring focus on skill development. I also took some time to work on prompting with Claude.
Good read for any educator

Atascadero Chamber of Commerce Jr CEO program had over 75 participants this year! My daughter enjoyed the program two years ago but it was significantly smaller. Love that it has grown to fit the beautiful Sunken Gardens. Talking with the student participants the program has certainly grown beyond our town with students from Templeton, Paso, and San Luis Obispo involved as well. Hearing their ideas and process is my favorite part. I made several purchases and noticed that many students sold out by the end of the day.
Great work by the Chamber!

This year has been fun for me as the head coach Sam Spears, was a student athlete when I was He is making improvements to the field & elevating the expectations of the program. The senior boys playing this year were freshman when I arrived at the school so I have had the privilege of seeing their growth.
